Bullseye or Spectrum 96

The butterflies were done with Bullseye's Blue Adventurine and the dragonflies were done with Spectrum 96's Blue Adventurine! You decide which one you like the best. I already made up my mind!

This Is What I Pulled Out Of The Kiln Today

This one I made in class but had to bring it home to fuse it together and then slump it! I love the irid to irid technique! I learned this from Brock Craig several yrs ago in a Portland Class at the 1st Warm Glass Conference!!

I learned cold working with Richard Simon. We used the lap wheel and the sandblaster. It was a fun 2 day class with some of the same people that I took classes with before!

Look What Happened Last Night!

I knew it would happen but just not when! So last night when I was fusing something the elements fell into the glass see the chunk on the element!
So my 1st kiln bit the dust....I ordered a new one to replace this one should get it next week!

Happy New Year 2009 Everyone!

This is an awesome pendant!
The glass is many layers of dichroic glass with a base of black. Then fused to get it into a single piece of glass. Cut down and then ground into a smooth heart...back into the kiln for a fire polish and then a bail added to complete the pendant. The piece does not show the layer of glass on top that gives it another layer of dichro but not all over the heart.

2 DaysTill The End Of 2008

We were lucky to have had so much snow for Christmas this year. Son wanted to be home for a "white" Christmas....the weather was wicked.... below zero temps....minus wind chill temps and snow pretty much everyday he was here. His wish was granted.... but we "told" him not to wish this weather again for next year.

His GF was visiting us also her 1st experience with cold weather ever....sorry it was quite the experience. She was huddled by the fireplace with a roaring fire going and hardly wanted to go outside. This is what we in the "North" pretty much have to put up with for 4 or 5 maybe 6 months at a time. Don't figure.... they go home and the snow melts and we have thunder storms and sunny days. Who would have thought that.

Now we have New Years Eve approaching and our weather is suppose to turn cold again. It sure is a weird winter. I just killed a fly outside today. A fly you say....yes a fly..... what does that mean? A short winter and maybe spring is on it's way.... like next week? I doubt that.... most likely it's going to be a very long, cold rest of the winter....but the fly thing is a mystery....
